KORA Organics
Quick verdict: Celebrity beauty brands usually mean a licensing deal and a name on a box. KORA is the exception worth knowing about: Miranda Kerr started it in 2009, bootstrapped it out of her own modeling income, and still owns around 95% of it. The whole range is certified organic to COSMOS and EcoCert, which is a higher bar than most of the clean shelf clears. It’s priced above the drugstore and the noni scent divides people. Our rating: 4.3 out of 5.
Who they are
Kerr launched KORA in Australia in 2009, well before celebrity beauty became a category. The unusual part is the financing: the company never took outside investment, growing on its own revenue instead, which is why the founder still holds the overwhelming majority of it.
That matters here more than the famous name. A brand that never raised has no investor waiting on an exit, and no acquisition pressure shaping what gets reformulated.
